These instructions are provided for your comfort, enjoyment
and pleasure, please take the time to read them FULLY.
Please note ;
The use of alcohol, drugs and prolonged immersion in hot water
may induce Hyperthermia. Symptoms include, dizziness, nausea,
fainting, drowsiness and reduced awareness of impending hazards
(including drowning).
Pregnant or possibly pregnant women should avoid using the Softub.
Persons suffering from obesity or with medical history of heart
diseases, low or high blood pressure, circulatory problems,
diabetes etc, or on medication, should consult their doctor
before using this equipment.
SAFETY INFORMATION.
Children must be closely supervised at all times when in or
near the Softub.
Do not use sharp objects in or around the tub.
Do not use the Softub when alone.
Sessions should be no more than 20 minutes at a time, and never
after strenuous exercise.
Exercise caution when entering and leaving the Softub.
Great care should be taken at all times when handling the all
electrical components. (see electrical safety)
Do not use the tub at any time when the thermal cover in place.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY.
Great care must be taken when installing and using your Softub.
Water and electricity make a very dangerous combination, so
make sure your hands are dry at all times when handling electrical
connections.
Your Softub will only operate on a 240v supply. Always use a
residual current device (RCD), plugged directly into the 240volt
socket. This will help to protect you against electric shock.
If an extension cable is required lay it out carefully avoiding
liquids, sharp edges and places where vehicles or people might
run / walk over it. Make sure the cable is at least 1.5mm cable
and correctly earthed. Unroll it fully.
Make sure all electrical connections are dry and safe at all
times. Do not spray water over any electrical equipment.
Never allow any electrical appliances such as radios, hair dryers
etc, within 3 metres of the tub.
If the equipment does not work properly, do not attempt to repair
it.
If in any doubt contact Hottubsforhire 01623 407770.
SITE SELECTION.
The Softub should always be placed on a structurally strong,
smooth and level surface or structure, with attention to loading
capacity, if in doubt consult a structural engineer (see specifications
).
The site should have easy drainage to allow for spillage.
Choose a non slip surface that allows for safe and easy entry
and exit from the SOFTUB.
The power supply should be within easy access.
The site should not be susceptible to infestation by burrowing
insects such as ants, and field mice etc.
Positioning under low branches, thorn bushes etc is not recommended.
The site should be secure.
OUTDOOR INSTALLATION
The Softub, must be placed on a smooth, level surface, that
is structurally strong, (see specifications).
Check there are no sharp objects under, and around the tub prior
to set-up.
Do not place the Softub in an area where dirt and debris may
be tracked into the tub. Sharp objects can puncture the lining
(see conditions of hire).
INDOOR INSTALLATION
We do not recommend installation indoors, as spillage may cause
a slipping hazard and / or structural damage. Should you choose
to install indoors, proper building materials must be used in
the area beneath and surrounding the tub (see specifications),
and provisions should be made for spillages.
Take into consideration the room humidity which will increase
due to high temperatures. Providing natural or forced ventilation
in the room will help maintain comfort and minimize moisture
damage to the surrounding environment.
Hottubsforhire.co.uk, offer a variety of accessories such as
gazebos and decking to enhance your enjoyment.
SET UP AND INSTALLATION
After selecting a suitable site, set the motor unit beside
the Softub on the same level surface.
Position the thermal cover straps (2) underneath the floor of
the Softub.
Align the hoses from the motor unit with the corresponding fittings
on the Softub.
DO NOT connect to power supply.
Hint: place the motor unit at the highest level and away from
the entry / exit point. Do not place the motor unit in an area
where water will " puddle " around it.
Push the motor unit towards the tub while guiding the hoses
over the tub fittings.
Hint : start with the air hose (smallest) first. Continue pushing
until the end of the hose almost covers the black tub fittings.
Slide the Jubilee clips towards the tub (allow about ¾”
of hoses to show).Tighten the clamps.
Connect the two lighting cables from the motor unit to the Softub
(6 berth only) as follows, BLACK TO BLACK - WHITE TO RED.
Hint: make sure not to over tighten - just make them snug -
you can always tighten more if the hoses begin to leak while
filling.
With the motor unit now connected to the Softub, make sure
it is placed where you want it to be. Remember to leave room
for entry and exit and beware or slip hazards. Check your electricity
supply is within reach.
DO NOT connect to power supply.
Hint: the tub is much easier to move empty than when full of
water.
Please make sure any wrinkles in the liner are smoothed out
and add about 1 - 2 inches of fresh clean water. Stop filling.
Hint: Using hot water (up to 40 degrees) will help work out
the wrinkles.
When all wrinkles are removed, continue to fill the tub, continually
checking the three hose clamp connections for leaks.
Hint: If you see a leak, don't panic. Turn off water and check
the clamps, tighten if required.
Place the Filter and filter sock IN the tub. This will allow
the filter to soak and equalize to the water temperature. DO
NOT attach the filter at this stage.
Continue filling with clean water to about 2 inches above the
highest jet.
Hint: soaking of the filter before attaching will aid with the
installation process.
Place thermal cover into place while the tub is filling.
Hint; the thermal cover will prevent leaves, grass etc to contaminate
your clean water.
Taking care, offer the filter, SQUARELY, to one of the two
air suction vents. Once in place, again with great care, TURN
the filter assembly ¼ turn, until the filter is locked
onto the vent. Choose the vent that will not hinder entry and
exit from the Softub.
Incorrect fitting of the air filter can tear the lining (see
conditions of hire).
Make the electrical connection for the tub. Turn the power
on to the tub (See electrical safety).
Check for leaks, then place the foam insulation jacket between
the motor unit and the tub. Now cover the foam with the vinyl
cover - Velcro at the bottom.
The Softub is now ready to heat to your desired temperature.
Push the plus ( + ) button to make the water hotter or the minus
( - ) button to lower the water temperature. Set the temperature
where you will be most comfortable.
Hint: the tub will heat faster if you turn OFF the air control
lever (fewer bubbles) – the air control lever is the pointed
handle on top of the motor unit and is OFF when directed towards
1 o’clock. The water temperature will rise at about 1
- 2 degrees centigrade per hour, depending on the model, surrounding
air and water temperature.
OPERATION
Occupancy
Do not over-occupy the Softub.
Damage caused by misuse is chargeable (see conditions of hire).
Temperature Setting.
By experimenting with different settings, you will find the
temperature most comfortable for you (You may wish to consider
a lower temperature for children)
Push the plus ( + ) button to make the water hotter or the minus
( - ) button to lower the water temperature. The buttons and
temperature display are on the top of the motor unit.
The thermostat will automatically turn the tub on and off as
the temperature falls below, then reaches, the set temperature
to maintain the water temperature you have selected, twenty
four hours a day. We do not recommend operating the tub over
39 degrees C.
Jets (bubbles).
When the water is at the set temperature (motor unit, silent)
the Jets will not be on. If you wish to use the jets, press
the JETS button on the control panel. This turns the jets on
for a 15 minute period. The bubbles can be made stronger my
turning the air control lever to 11 o’clock by rotating
the knob anti-clock-wise one quarter of a turn from the 1o’clock
position. When the motor stops after 15 minutes the jets button
may be pressed again.
If the motor unit is running (heating mode), the bubbles can
be made stronger by tuning the air control lever to 11 o’clock
(rotating the knob anti-clock-wise one quarter of a turn from
the 1o’clock position).
At the end of a session, ensure the air control valve is OFF
(lever pointing to 1 o’clock). This will allow the motor
unit to operate at maximum efficiency and maintain the water
at your desired temperature.
Filteration.
The tub automatically filters the water in your Softub. When
the tub is running in the filtration cycle, the filter icon
will glow. The digital controls are set to run two 15-minute
filtration cycles in a 24 hour period. These will run every
12 hours and are set when the tub is first plugged in. The filtration
cycle will only run if there has been no heat call in the prior
12 hours. If there has been a heat call, the filtration cycle
will be skipped.
Do not remove the filter assembly during use. Take care not
to step on the filter during entry and exit as this will tear
the liner (see conditions of hire).
Thermal cover.
The cover must be removed and stored carefully when the Softub
is in use. At the end of the session replace the cover and attach
the straps. This will help with heat maintenance and prevent
wind hazards.
Do not sit or lie on the thermal cover at any time as this
will cause it to split (see conditions of hire).
Lights (6/7 berth only).
6/7 berth Softubs come equipped with a multi-colour LED light.
This light affords 10 different lighting effects for your tub.
Simply depressing the light button will turn the lights on and
off. It will also enable you to change the colours. If the light
is turned off then back on within 10 seconds, it advances to
the next mode. If the light is turned off for more than 10 seconds
and then turned back on, it will light up in the last mode.
